Its Monday!!

Male American RobinRed robin breast on branch

The windows are open and the birds are singing. The sun is attempting to shine through the clouds and it is a wonderful day that the LORD hath made.

We traveled again this weekend and again the LORD protected us on the road. The car is about ready to turn over to 200,000 miles and each time we get into it we praise HIM for it.

We received a tremendous love offering this weekend and we will be putting it toward  trip expenses for 'Standing In The Gap'. Please pray about our monthly support.

Remember to encourage someone today!

Return

We returned from the IFB meeting in West Virginia on Thursday, February 17. The meeting was held at Bible Baptist Temple, Pastor Chuck Maddeaus.  The meeting had excellent preaching and music.  The church fed us lunch and dinner, it was outstanding.

We stayed with college friends Gene and Barb Hall, what a blessing that was. We also attended Sunday services at Fellowship Baptist Church in Idamay. Scott Hall is the pastor, former missionary to Kenya, East Africa. It was a real blessing to see Laurie and the boys, we have known Laurie since she was a little girl. Laurie was in our youth group in Vermont, it was different to see her as the Pastors wife.  We also met Hannah K., she is the daughter of Mark and Donna K. I worked with Mark in Pennsylvania many years ago.

We made many contacts and left information about 'Standing in the Gap' with about 20 preachers. The plan is to contact them in a few days and see what the response is.  Please pray about that.

"Standing In The Gap" is a ministry that supplies "Furlough Relief", "On-Site Assistance", and "Encouragement".

We recently received an email (through our church) from a missionary.  We would like to share with you part of that letter. This missionary starts out his letter like this...

"...I just received an email, today, concerning a missionary family that is leaving the field to return to the states. They are selling all of their possessions that they own in _________, and are moving back to the states. ...  We are sometimes seen as more of a burden than a blessing by some,  and the difficulties can be great at times. Many pastors do not understand the hardships, trials and burdens of the missionaries they support. Every missionary should understand these things when they set out to follow the call that God has placed upon their lives. ..."

We do not know why this particular missionary is leaving the field. Their reasons are not ours to know but "Standing In The Gap" could help some missionaries so they could remain and continue to do the work of the Lord.

We would like to be a blessing to missionaries that need help on the field.  They might just need a time of furlough to help them recover physically as well as spiritually so that they could return to the work that God has called them to.

Hallelujah!

We will be attending a fellowship meeting in West Virginia next week and the LORD opened a door for us to stay with some college friends. Now we will be able to renew some friendships AND attend the entire meeting. PTL!

More Snow?
Please pray that the snow that is supposed to come (90% chance) later today will hold off so that we can attend church this evening. Whenever it snows the entire community shuts down. They are not equipped to keep the roads clear. There is one way in and one way out of the housing development and that is a steep hill - If the snow arrives we will home until the roads clear...

Likeminded...

"Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind."

"Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others."

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:"  Philippians 2:2, 4, and 5

Like minded =to be without quarrels, and divisions within the church BUT also within ones own mind. If we focus on Christ and what we are to do because we love HIM our mind will remain clear and focused on HIM.

Let us ask ourselves what we are focusing on?

Trust in the LORD...

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
-Proverbs 3:5-6

We cannot trust and acknowledge him if we never spend time in HIS word! The more time we spend with HIM the more we will trust HIM.  Then the paths of our life, our service for Him, families,  marriages, employment etc.,  HE will clearly direct us on those paths!!

Mission Conference

Late yesterday afternoon we returned from St. Joseph Missouri where we attended our mission conference at our home church, Bible Baptist Temple. Pastor Ron Jones of Temple Baptist Church in El Dorado, Kansas was the main speaker. God spoke to our hearts through the messages and gave both Leo and I the same exact amount that we are to give in 2011 towards faith promise missions.

We had the pleasure of getting to know missionary Bruce and Sheila Carr along with children Sarah, Luke, Levi and Hannah they are missionaries to Australia. Also attending the conference was Stephen and Sarah Barr with daughter Maddie they are starting a church in Eureka Illinois, there first service will  be March 6. We also had the opportunity to present "Standing in the Gap" to our home church, what a blessing everyone was to us!

It was good to spend time with family and friends.
