We took a trip last week to meet with a missionary in Springfield, Missouri. They are missionaries in Holland for which we plan to 'Stand in the Gap' for in 2011. We met for the first time last Friday evening and immediately there was rapport. We began to talk together and we laid out each others expectations. We met again on Saturday and he showed us his presentation that he uses when going to churches. It was a real blessing to see people in Holland who had accepted the Lord and want to serve HIM.
I was born in Holland and immigrated to the United States in 1958, I still understand and can speak (with difficulty) the language - reading it is another story. The missionary gave us a dutch Bible and now Leo and I read Proverbs together, Leo reads in English and I in dutch. He spent time in Germany while serving in the army and then married a dutch girl so he has some familiarity with the language. We plan to take a refresher course so we can become even more familiar and prepared.
We spent a week with family in Saint Joseph and our home church, Bible Baptist Temple. Saturday evening we were back in Tennessee to continue homeschooling our two youngest grandchildren Abigail (12 tomorrow) and Mack (8).
We are working on prayer cards, letters of introduction, statement of faith and getting a mailing list together to send out packets of information. If you would like to receive one please let us know.
Please pray for us as we begin this new path the LORD has directed us too.
